Game Boy Advance
2001-06-11
The Game Boy Advance (GBA) is a 32-bit handheld game console developed, manufactured and marketed by Nintendo as the successor to the Game Boy Color. It was released in Japan on March 21, 2001, in North America on June 11, 2001, in the PAL region on June 22, 2001, and in mainland China as iQue Game Boy Advance on June 8, 2004. The GBA is part of the sixth generation of video game consoles.

The super mario advance games were great. I remember picking this up the day it was released. Still have it!

Minus two stars, one for each eye that was damaged trying to see on this $#@%$%^ screen. Still, it's a Nintendo handheld.

Game Boy Advance
Overall amazing handheld console but not having a backlit screen was kind of a bummer.

Game Boy Advance
I love all game boy systems. This one was fun to play. I didn't own one, but my friend did and I always had a good time playing it. I like that it's backwards compatible with the other cartridges, and I'm still on the hunt to catch on of these for a decent price.

I wanted to like this more than I did. While the games were improved over the OG GameBoy, the lighting for the original GBA was awful. It was frustrating having to spend extra money for accessories just to be able to play a game. This was the first and only handheld I ever bought; I decided I was better off sticking with consoles.

Game Boy Advance
A fun handheld, and finally offered a backlit screen, something that was missing from its predecessors. No more having to rely on the next streetlight while sitting in the back of your parents car for screen lighting. A bit small in the hands as an adult, but for kids this was a great size. Great games featured on this one as well.

Just got a hold of one recently. This game out during my dark ages of gaming. I had no idea this thing played Game Boy and Game Boy Color games too. It has its own solid collection. Quality screen. Short lived but deserved more.

So what’s better than a game boy? An advanced one…. Joking aside this thing was a huge up grade fit better in the hands. Colors were awesome, battery life was decent. Maybe it’s all the memories but it’s 5s. Still have one too, should bust it out

My brother had one of these, so I played it with him some. It had good games for the time, didn't take a huge number of batteries to play. The color aspect played a little better than the original GameBoy Color I felt. It was a good system overall. Was mostly left behind so quickly because of the speed at which the industry started to move.

Game Boy Advance
I remember pretty significant graphic improvements over the Gameboy Color.

Game Boy Advance
One of three handhelds I’ve owned and I think this was my favourite purely because of Rayman.

Game Boy Advance
Metroid fusion and Metroid Zero Mission rekindled my love of 2D Metroids. Besides those I loved Final Fantasy Tactics, and Minish Cap was a fun quirky Zelda game. This felt a good leap above the GBC.

Game Boy Advance
Gameboy color wasn't a bad handheld. Jumping up to a color backlite screen made all the difference. Better orientation than the original game made it more comfortable to play but still a little too small.

Game Boy Advance
The first game system I received brand new. My first game was Star Wars Ep. I! But I played many pokemon games! My best memories were of playing in the backseat if the car with my external plug in light!

Game Boy Advance
I remember getting my GBA with a copy of Pokemon Silver. I played the crap out of my console until it got a screen bleed. Some of my favorite games on this from Megaman Battle Network to Fire Emblem. There was a lot of experimenting that went on with this console.

Game Boy Advance
I was given one of these years ago. Not the greatest portable system, but still good. I only played Final Fantasy Tactics on it, so I really can't say much.

Game Boy Advance
My second favorite Gameboy! Spent hours on road trips playing Pokémon! The backlight was my only issue…

Game Boy Advance
Enjoyed the way that the "system" went wide, rather than up & down so it was more comfortable to hold to game with than holding a GameBoy color.

Game Boy Advance
Backwards compatibility is always great. Holding the Gameboy advance also felt very natural.

Game Boy Advance
This handheld system I had to share with my siblings. I did not play this as much as the Gameboy Color. But the games i did play were a lot of fun. I loved being able to take this with us and play on the go
