Cuphead is a run-and-gun action game focused primarily on boss battles. Players traverse through side-scrolling levels, shoot magic attacks from their fingers, and engage in several boss battles against robots, humans, and giant animals/creatures (e.g., birds, frogs, mice, rabbits). Graphics are depicted in a stylized, 1930s/'40s-animated-style; combat is frenetic with frequent cries of pain and explosions.
