Galaga is a 1981 fixed shooter arcade video game developed and published by Namco. In North America, it was released by Midway Manufacturing. It is the sequel to Galaxian (1979), Namco's first major video game hit in arcades. Controlling a starship, the player is tasked with destroying the Galaga forces in each stage while avoiding enemies and projectiles. Some enemies can capture a player's ship via a tractor beam, which can be rescued to transform the player into a "dual fighter" with additional firepower.

I only played this game because of the avengers movie. But I knew about it before. A classic game of shootemups. You are a space fighter and fight aliens with your guns, and then you can get improved guns and kill more bad guys. Great game. Thought you wouldn't notice, but you did

I love this game and still think it's as fun as ever. My best memories of this game are playing against my mother on the N64. We had the Namco bundle on N64 and as soon as I saw the Namco bundle on Switch, I bought it again.

As a classic, it's up there and still playable. But there's been literally 70,000,000 other shmups made after this that clearly overshadow the original Galaga. Still not bad for a quick high score sesh though.
