Overall, its good. Its a good game, and the rating of it is fair. But if I could rate the strategy behind it, its 0 stars. ZERO, ZILCH, NADA. Why this? F-Zero fans have been waiting for something with this. Its a great franchise and you decide, instead of remastering or giving us some sort of hope for something in the pipeline, what do you do? You give us what feels to be a minimum effort. I'm just sad that this was the route taken
Never really got into this one. Played the original FZero way back in the day, but not a whole lot. Played a few games of this, couldn't quite get it down, and just let it go. Not a bad game, but just not my cup of tea.
I loved the OG, and this is a fun expansion of it that brings the nostalgia with modern game modes. I almost gave it 4 stars but since I bounced off it pretty quickly, it gets 3.
I had a feeling this game would be fun, and it's even more fun than I thought it would be. 98 other individuals just slamming around while you're trying to keep your speed up while also not get blown up, all while trying to finish in front of 4 rivals for some extra XP. Not to mention the extra "skins" you can unlock which aren't overly difficult (ex: use one of the machines 10 times, new color). Also a huge perk that the game is free (to active Nintendo Switch Online subscribers).
The ONLY thing I wish that it would allow us to do is lobby up with friends to race each other rather than timing searching for a lobby perfectly (my kids & I raced maybe 10 races on Sunday and were in the same lobby 9 times).
Giving it a 4-star for now as I would like to see a little more from it, but just know when I say 4 star, that it's like a 4.99999.
This game is a lot of fun. 98 other races on the same track make for a crazy experience. The ultimate goal of the game is to win the race, but they give you 4 rivals that you should focus on and try to beat. I love that! It’s free so give this game a try.
