Excitebike is a motocross racing video game developed and published by Nintendo. In Japan, it was released for the Famicom in 1984 and then ported to arcades as Vs. Excitebike for the Nintendo Vs. System later the same year. In North America, it was initially released for arcades in 1985 and then as a launch title for the Nintendo Entertainment System later the same year, becoming one of the best selling games on the console. It is the first game in the Excite series.

No. There is no excitement here. Only controlled joy. You can only go so fast without the bike literally stalling out and making you lose a race. Not to mention the fact that the jumps you make are ruined by said speed. This isn't excite bike. This is normal bike.

Only played it for a Channel 3 challenge. I didn't really care for it; but may have liked it more had I played as a kid.

That challenge was really hard. I didn’t care for the gameplay and I’m grading it against other 8-bit style games. I love the amount of skill required to play it well, but not my style of game.

This game is difficult! I love the game that have taken from this concept though as there are some great mobile games that are very similar and fun to play.

The very first game I played on a gaming system and it still holds a place in my heart. Every time I went to my sisters I begged to play this. Could spend hours just making tracks and seeing how crazy I could get! Definitely one that every kid should experience.
