Dig Dug is a maze arcade game developed by Namco in 1981 and released in 1982, distributed in North America by Atari, Inc. The player controls Dig Dug to defeat all enemies per stage, by either inflating them to bursting or crushing them underneath rocks.

Simple and still fun. The sequel was much improved.

The controls/response time are annoying at times. The art/graphics are not great even with considering the limitations.

Very solid gameplay with a joystick and single button control scheme that holds up over time. Fun for a quick challenging game in between daily responsibilities.

How did I miss Dig Dug as a kid? Fun concept, fun game play loop. Would love to play this with a controller and not a keyboard.

Always really liked Dig Dug. It's a perfect retro game for a quick 5-10 minute play session. Plus who doesn't want to shove a harpoon into a dragon and inflate them until they blow up? Making the rocks fall on their heads too was always very rewarding.

I might have liked it more had I been able to play with a controller instead of a keyboard. Though definitely seems better than the sequel (which I initially mistook for this game).
