Mario Kart 8 is a great game in a long line of great games in the Mario Kart series, and I love it. Donkey Kong Country is a masterpiece because it came out before you could find every piece of information ever on the Internet, thus making it a game you could put hundreds of hours of gameplay into, not just because of its difficulty, but because the developers spent so much time adding secrets that you really had to dedicate time to discovering on your own. For a kid without a lot of cold hard cayshe, this meant a lot of value for a game, and my brother and I played this together on the family room floor for days on end. Also: props to the soundtrack which has multiple great, memorable cuts, and props to the diversity of the design of the levels. I do think they reused a lot of sprites, but this was how it was done back in the day."
