"The need for quarters lowers the rating.
Though I do recall one time on vacation staying at a hotel that disabled the need for quarters on all their arcades. My brother and I along with 2 other kids we met played through TMNT!"
"If you're an avid video game enjoyer, absolutely nothing beats the feeling of being in an arcade and pushing through quarters like they're going out of style. I think every birthday until I got to high school was at an arcade, and I'll be forever thankful for it. I used to go for the tickets and prizes, but nowadays you can catch me playing the racing games or skill games for fun and handing my tickets out to other kids having their birthday parties there."
"I got myself the Street Fighter 2 Arcade1Up as soon as they were released with the sole intention of probably never playing Street Fighter on it. I was hoping they would figure out how to mod it and put a retropie inside and within like 2 weeks they did that. So I gutted mine, put a retropie inside and there's nothing like playing NBA Jam or Turtles on an actual arcade. It's the best. Easy to mod too following a tutorial online."
"Arcades were places I visited whenever I went to the beach growing up. It was a heaven to me. Got a bit more often now, especially at Dave & Busters, but arcades still are just as fun & enjoyable as when I was a kid."
"We took our son to CiCis for the first time recently and he absolutely loved the arcade. So did I and the games were mostly trash. It just goes to show how fun arcade games are. Growing up one of my Uncles had Sea Wolf at his house. It was EPIC"
"There was nothing quite like entering an arcade and walking around to figure out which gem you were going to play. So many classics and so many fond memories."
"Arcade layouts have changed, but they'll always be a great time. I have life long memories beating the Simpsons with 3 friends, playing Dance Dance Revolution when the crowds gathered, and battling it out in Marvel vs Capcom. "
"The mecha of gaming. The OG. So happy they are making a comeback, there are a few around me that also serve beer, I'm not to old to rent it out for my bday right? ?"
"Hanging out at arcades was before my time, but when given the opportunity, it was really fun to play games on a big screen two inches from your face."
