Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Animal Crossing: New Horizons
My whole family ... 2 kids, wife and myself (even 2 foster kids) will play for hours. Sitting in the living room and flying our Dodo planes to each other's islands. We trade furniture and fruit and vegetables. We gift bells to each other to help the building process ...
Seriously, if you don't like family time, problem solving, economics, and other skills for life than stay away from this game. it'll teach your kids things and then they'll start thinking for themselves and be productive members of society.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons
I absolutely love this game. I’ve never fully decorated an island because I always get overwhelmed and start over. But, not this time! I’m taking it slow and having fun with it. It is a relaxing game.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons
The pandemic special. I ruined the game for myself by utilizing those turnip seller sites. I quickly paid off my debt and then felt like I didn't have much to play for in the game anymore

Animal Crossing: New Horizons
My first animal crossing game i snagged this when my jobsite went down for 2 weeks during covid. Open your mind and let it rip. The island is your playground. Grind bells build your island get more villagers and have a blast. The seasons change the scenery, animals , events and outfits.

Explore others islands trade items offer bells and just hang out and vibe. There’s also random islands you can visit that have all sorts of fun surprises that I’ll let you figure out on your own. There is also islanders there that you can recruit to your island. Sometimes you gotta make some sad so they leave so you can get who you want ..

Besides the constant grinding of bells if you can’t get a good lottery on turnips the game can get alittle dull while you do so then it’s fun again while you decorate and just do daily tasks. It’s a very relaxing game that anyone would enjoy just don’t let that pesky Tom nook ruffle your feathers with his greed :)

Animal Crossing: New Horizons
When I mostly played was during the pandemic since there was so much time to be wasted and games get hiring over awhile. Being a such stress free game is nice since sometimes you just want to play and relax which this game is. I would recommend playing it socially though since I remember it was more fun that way. Creating dream homes were probably the most fun part of the game since with a child mine you can do so much. I would like to hope that if another is made you could add more realistic graphics since that would make the game so itch greater

Animal Crossing: New Horizons
A fun, stress-free experience. It’s best played socially - obviously had a huge moment in the pandemic- I play most often with my family. Walking around collecting fruit, fishing and catching n bugs is mindless fun. I wish there was more to do in the endgame but I’m starting to enjoy finding random items and seeing how I can use them on the island. The DLC is fun as well, creating dream homes for villagers given certain parameters. This might be a 3 star game if not for the extreme polish Nintendo gave it.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Super fun and chill game. Well, chill aside from having to worry that racoons will break your kneecaps in an alleyway if you can't make your loan payment on time.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons
4 instead of 5 stars because I lost my progress when getting a new switch and cannot bring myself to play again.
This is exactly what we wanted with updated graphics, new characters some old, and the ability to turn our brains off and farm wood to build a bench for the townsfolk.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Is it fun just to aimlessly pick your fruit, cut trees and wander around your island? Yes. Does it also lose that fun after about 30 minutes? Also yes.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons
No other game can quite sate the intrinsic desire to leave everything behind to go live on an island where you can pay your mortgage off as slow as you please to the nicest landlord of all time. It also fulfills the deep-seated instinct to simply reject all other forms of work besides fishing and catching bugs all day with your adorable, fluffy neighbors who will always be kind and polite and who would NEVER call the HOA on you for having your grass half an inch too long.

If you want to play a game that seriously makes you consider selling all your material possessions and disappearing into the void in search of true community, friendship, and neighborly values, then this is the game for you.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons
This game is very good just all the exploration you can do an all the friendships you can make and you can really choose who you want to be friends with honestly and then you can and then eventually you’ll actually like truly become friends with them and it’s just an amazing game and I truly love it. It’s so much fun to play.I’ll spend countless hours on it just trying to get some money to upgrade my house. It’s so tempting to just play it overnight 24 /7.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Three stars because I was forced to buy 2 extra Switches to play this with family and everyone have their own island. Game came out at the time when people were able to play it most during beginning of the Covid times. Everytime I have tried to get back into it lately I go in on a Sunday buy some Turnips just to have them spoil. Fun game at its peak in 2020.

A good relaxing game to play. One of the first games i got when i got my switch. Gameplay feels a little slow at time.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons
For those first pandemic lockdown months, our house played the hell out of this game and it's a lot of fun. Once my interest waned, I haven't picked it up again despite a ton of new adds to the game. If you're into this style of game for an indefinite amount of time, this is a dream. For more casual players, you'll likely have fun for a few months before deciding to move on.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons
I think I would've gave this game a lower rating had it not come out in March 2020, also known as "when the world shut down". This was a blessing and a curse. While the game should have extended playability played for 20 minutes here and there, I played the shit out of this game while out of work for months during the pandemic getting to 5-star island status within a few months. After reaching the pinnacle of the game, I returned to my dark master, Fortnite. My wife, however, who originally poo-poo'd the game, has become addicted and now uses my game cartridge to run a second island. This game is a great pastime and was a fun first foray into the Animal Crossing series.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons
This game is so cute and so fun. The customizing options are MASSIVE and I greatly enjoy them, and the Happy Home Paradise adds a lot of cool furniture and replayability. If you aren't very creative though, this game can get kind of boring, as they've stopped adding new content and everything works in real time so sometimes you have to wait for a piece of furniture to get sent or a building to get moved, but honestly I still have a lot of fun with it and have recently gotten back into it

Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Animal Crossing New Horizons on its own would be 4 stars due to the lack of content and features that were present in past games that are no longer available. HOWEVER, with the introduction of the Happy Home Paradise DLC, the game earns back its lost points with new types of content and a ton of new homes to build for your favorite (and least favorite villagers). I won't get heavy into the details to make sure I don't spoil any content for people thinking about the game, but it will be well worth your time and money to buy if you've enjoyed animal crossing in the past or have a knack for designing your own island civilization.

But even without the DLC, the game is still extremely solid. The new abilities to customize almost EVERY aspect of your island and the amount of control you're given to craft the island of your dreams is phenomenal. I've never had more fun designing homes than in this game due to the heavy customization options you get for every little design and detail you can think of. The new custom pattern options are the cherry on top with brand new ability to make a large variety of clothing options and the creation tools only making it more satisfying.

The only gripe I could truly say I have with the game is the lack of content when it comes to villager interaction. The characters don't have as much personality as the past games and can even be a bit repetitive when it comes to dialogue options. This is only a small complaint though and doesn't take away from the beautiful island that will be yours to terraform to your will.

Overall, 5/5

Try Animal Crossing: New Horizons out. You won't regret it.

It's Just Animal Crossing. But that's not a bad thing

Since the GameCube Animal Crossing has always been a reliable game. The beauty of having Animal Crossing on a the switch is this is the first version of the game to have DLC other than player E-Cards. Which gives the game potential to be more than what its always been. It is only getting 4 stars because those few updated online features such as visiting other friends islands and snap shots didn't really do much to improve the gameplay. But I will always recommend it.

Great game, I just don't dedicate a lot of time to it. Was fun for a while, but as someone with a more limited amount of gaming time, I'll opt for a game I'm more invested in.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons
This game was great for a couple years. I got it at the beginning of the pandemic. So relaxing and easily takes your mind off the craziness of the world we live in. It is hard to get back into it after taking some time off.

Getting this game during quarantine was the perfect storm! So relaxing and helped me pass the time. Nothing groundbreaking it incredible at the same time.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons
I put this game in the same realm as the Sims. If I wanted to experience normal, everyday life, I wouldn't be playing a video game. I guess it can be relaxing.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons
I'm glad my kids like this game because it's pretty wholesome and they're learning landlords are problematic. Personally I don't get how anyone plays it. It's so slow. I wish my life was boring enough to spend time playing this game, it does seem relaxing for the adults I know who are into it. Animal Crossing has never held my interest enough to prioritize playing it over the hundred other things I'd do first.

This was a pandemic staple for me me when it came out. I just can't get back into it. I lost interest when my inventory maxed before caps were expanded and just moved on. It was a blast and kind of chill even though now I just think of it as a chore. Weird to explain.
My 7 YO daughter still plays it almost daily to this day and just has a blast redecorating.
My 9 YO son still plays it periodically but nowhere near as much as my daughter and he just kind of hangs.
